Brief History
Services in the Anglican tradition were first held in Lorne beside the Erskine River on Wadawurrung land. In 1879 services were moved to Erskine House, a large homestead and guest house built by the Mountjoy family, which is today part of the Mantra Resort.

The decision to build the church was made in January 1880, and a contract entered into at the cost of £205. The original site was donated by a local landowner Mr Gwynne. The wooden church was moved, down the hill, in 1884, to its present site on Mountjoy Parade opposite the Lorne beach, and the chancel added.

The parish came under the management of the Diocese of Melbourne in 2023. The vicarage was extensively renovated and restored, and is now used for short stays for clergy and church workers.
